De Frag

I used to be able to de frag drives c,d,e ntil i had to do a full clean install on my computer, now only able to do c, anybody help please?

When you reinstalled, did you split the drive up into different partitions or did you just format the entire hard drive?  I think you'll find that your C drive is now the combined size of your C, D and E drives as there are no partitions.

OBonio is exactly right. Is this one hard drive you have split up, or do you have a second hard drive split up into two partitions for a total of three? Can you still access D,E drives? If so then you have a different problem, probably just a setting somewhere. If you cannot see these drives listed when you click on my computer and you do only have one hard drive, you may have to reformat again in order to partition.

Thankyou both for taking the time to answer, i an stillmsee all 3 drives in my computer however, tried a thought.. right click on them but that did not give me the option to de frag

Re my previous answer, when i chose properties, the drives had zero bytes as size so you both have hit the nail on the head, and i indeed now have only 1 active drive, they wer previously partitioned under ntfs ( think thats correct ?  )

Are D: and E: formatted?

I only have 1 hard drive, d.e do not have any size under properties so dont know if they are formatted, just assumed the whole drive is formatted as one

You have one physical drive, but if it's partitioned into three logical drives, then each one needs formatted. C is already formatted and Windows will tell you if the other drives need formatted when you try to access them. Also, to defragment you need 15% free space on the drive you're trying to de-fragment.
