Sharp HTSB400 Soundbar - External Sub-Woofer???

Hello,

Would I be right in saying that this unit won't work with an external subwoofer that is passive? as the user guide says says "Note: No sound is heard from the subwoofer without a built-in amplifier - the subwoofer must have an in-built amplifier"

The subwoofer I have is a standalone model and has no power, so would this be suitable?

ps i does say on here you need an active sub......
The subwoofer Pre-Output terminal (RCA) can easily connect with any active subwoofer (not included), to get a deep and powerful sound. The soundbar volume is adjusted by the TV volume settings, when connected via the headphone output terminal of any TV-Set so you can use your conventional TV remote control...

No basically.

You need a sub with an AMP built into it.
i have a Yamaha sound projector ,the same thing more or less and it needs an active sub
