Do you mean which version of USB?
Which OS are you running?
In XP you can check whether you have USB 2 as follows:
Right-click My Computer
Choose Properties
Click the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Scroll down to "Universal Serail Bus Controllers"
Click the plus sign to the left
Look down the list - if you see "Standard Enhanced CPI to USB Host Controller", you have at least some USB 2 ports.
Some older machines had a mix of USB 1 and 2 ports. As far as I know, the only way to check if a specific port is USB 2 is to plug in a USB2 device. If you see a message to the effect that the device could perform faster, you've plugged it into a USB 1 port.
Few typos in there, but they're not important :-)
I've just remembered that (according to your earlier post) you're running Win7 (it's always a good idea to include such info with your question).
The instructions are pretty much the same, but the description of the controller may differ slightly. The key word is "Enhanced". If you see that in the list of USB Host Controllers then you have USB2.
I'd say it's a fairly safe bet that any computer that was supplied with vista and is capable of running windows7 would have USB2 ports.
