Water spilled onto laptop

I spilled a glass of water over my laptop keyboard a few weeks ago. I immediately turned it off and let it completely dry out for a week. It only now works by using an external keyboard and screen. Anyony had a similar accident and if so what was the damage?

Keyboard is probably just that, a damaged keyboard.

The screen not working is a bigger concern, can you see anything on it at all if you try shining a light on it?

Unfortunate, but no one ever likes using a laptop keyboard anyway do they ? Now all you need is a decent screen as well. Then you could house the rest of the laptop in a box on your desk, and you'll be getting somewhere.
