Google Earth

Google Earth is a virtual globe, map and geographic information program, mapping the Earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS 3D globe.

Google Earth was released in 2005 and was made available across a number of systems, allowing users to browse most destinations across the globe in high-definition detail.

Searches can be made my place names, geographical co ordinates and postcodes, but users are also encourages to search the globe themselves by spinning the model Earth and zooming in and out of destinations.

Google Earth also allows people to upload and share their photos of destinations they have visited, so if you search for the Taj Mahal, you will be presented with hundreds of users photos of the location.
