Google Street View

Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that provides panoramic views from various positions along millions of streets across the globe.

Although Google Street View was launched in 2007, the UK wasn’t fully mapped until March 2010, sending the British media into a privacy induced frenzy.

As the media mayhem died down, internet users were beginning to see Google Street View in a better light. We quickly found out that this wasn’t a technology only used by stalkers and super criminals; it could be useful for other things too, like finding your way around an unfamiliar city, or planning your escape route in case of a zombie apocalypse.
