Towcester - what is it like?

We have booked a hotel break for 2 nights at a hotel in Towcester in March, as it was a special deal we didn't get much choice with the destination, so wondered what there is to see around there apart from Silverstone and Towcester Race course?

Jo Whiley lives there. I saw her a few weeks ago whilst passing through. It looks like a lovely town/village. The Super Sausage cafe on the road out of town (in the direction of MK) is crap.

Hey you cheeky lot - I can google!! However thanks for all the links Chris. I only wanted to know if anyone had been there (or lived there) as its good to get a personal opinion and to get advice for seeing places which are "off the tourist trail" for locals in the know - thanks everyone!
