I own a Braun gas hair curler and the cylinders/cells state they contain butyl and although it says on the replacement cylinder package that it can be taken on a flight if made completely secure Easy Jet regulations say that only those with hydrocarbon cells can be carried. Is there such a hair curler/tongs on the market?

I think you`ll find that they are hydrocarbon so yes, they`ll be fine (either in hold or carry-on with the cover on) minus any spare cylinders of course, which are disallowed.

I put mine in the hold, in my suitcase, there's never been a problem.

You say "butyl" - presumably you mean "butane" since they are gas . Butane IS a hydrocarbon.
When I used to have one of those (that take the blue cartridges) I always found they emptied themselves during the flight!
