I've always had a good deal from HRS. However, their site doesn't seem able to handle triple rooms. I hope this helps anyway.

If Benedict XVI doesn't pop his papal clogs prematurely, you should be able to get a room in Rome near the station at that price quite easily.

I've stayed in a couple of hotels in that area for less than that price - can't remember the name of one of them but the other was the Hotel Nizza. Got deals through Expedia - 3 nights 189 sort of thing (including flight) so should be very reasonable.

Hi funkychicken,

I have stayed in the Hotel Napoleon,Piazza Vittorio Emmanuele,Rome. It's only a couple of streets from the Stazione Terminii.Check out the link:~

Sorry,I cannot say if it's cheap, but it IS in the area you want.

PS,

Don't be put off by the prices (I have just had a look at them) as I am sure prices in December (providing it's not Christmas!) would be cheaper.

Make them an offer! LOL

Have a look at venere.com for location maps and a guide to prices. You can book on this site and cancel up to the day before and you do not pay until you leave the hotel. However, sometimes you can get a better deal by buying flight and hotel from lastminute.com. December should be relatively cheap.
