I have been but it was 42 years ago when it was part of the USSR. From what I remember it was rather quaint, though I was only there on a day trip from Minsk. Might be totally different now.
I have been there .... it is very pretty (at least the old part is) The old Soviet buildings make an interesting contrast. Lovely main road leading to a very pretty church. Would urge you to look up at buildings not just at eye level. We were only there for 2 days as we were on a road trip but found a lovely hotel, very modern, and had a suite which was very cheap. Take time to relax and enjoy coffee, pastries etc.
Sadly I cannot remember the name of the hotel but it was right on the main road and was modern and very close to a large book shop...google earth?? The main road leads straight to a lovely large church ..probably not much help there but if you go do enjoy. I never recommend places as we all want something different and what I am interested may not be what others like...for example himself is not desperately impressed with me regularly pointing out exciting physical features of the landscape...or how they were made and I am beyond excited by an ancient lava flow or a hanging valley!!!
