Setting Up Email On Htc

I've just got a HTC Desire 530 and am trying to set it up for email but when I put my email address and password in it says the info is wrong and to check the settings. Can't find the settings for email on this. I know the email address and password are correct so I can't figure out why it won't go through. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

im assuming your using the gmail app that's linked to your google account ?
