Chicago And Cincinnati Hotels

My son and I are going to Chicago and Cincinnati shortly. Chicago we have nothing planned other than to take in a few sights and shopping. For three nights we will be in Cincinnati going to the zoo and also an NFL game. Has anyone got any recommendations on where to stay for both places that's not going to break the bank, but in a good area, plus near restaurants and transport links (especially Cincinnati). Thank you.

The Westin Michigan Av Chicago is in a good spot - Michigan avenue is where the shops are and the Cheesecake Factory is right across the road.

For economy, the Milliennium looks to be a possibility. The reviews on TripAdvisor are certainly varied but, if you actually delve into detail about the poorer reviews, there seems nothing too much there to start alarm bells ringing. (The moaners and groaners seem to want to criticise outdated decor or a surly member of staff rather than the things which really matter. There seems to be general agreement that the location couldn't be better). It's coming up as around £67 per night (for a room with two double beds) for a random date I've tried in the near future:
