I'm thinking of going to Prague for my birthday in Feb. I've looked at a few hotels on Trivago and other sites, but can't tell how good they are. Can anyone recommend a decent hotel with a bar, that's within easy reach of the sights? It doesn't have to be budget, but just not silly money.

Sorry, no, only visited for a day, but you will love Prague. There's a Picasso museum, which was well-hidden when I was there, and the Jewish ghetto which Hitler was going to allow to live as a living museum and reminder of Judaism. Garnets are a great buy. Enjoy :)

Sounds lovely, can't wait to go now. Thanks, jourdain.
Can't help you with Hotels Clover, my Daughter lived there for a while and now has an apartment there.

Lots of other interesting bits I and others offered on this thread.

Thank you, Mamya. I'd better warn OH that that is the normal service. :)
They all love the City, and are off there at New Year.

Hope you have a lovely time.
We had a 4-day break there recently, staying at the Questenberk Hotel. It hasn't got a bar but there are several cafe-bars within a very short distance, incuding the one within the monastery, where the monks brew their own beer!
In fact, the hotel was part of the monastery - which is, of course, one of the "sights" - originally. Excellent accommodation and staff, great views down to the city, away from the throngs of tourists, close to the castle and a tram-line, so easy to get to places. Not cheap, but thoroughly recommended.
If you go, have dinner at the Little Blue Duck, just round the corner from the Lennon Wall. Good luck!

The Leonardo is central but off the main tourist drag so is quiet. Lovely big rooms with great bathrooms and a small kitchen. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Prague. And when you go try the Konvict for dinner. No tourists or tourist prices. Great food and full of locals
