Should We Be Taking Nuclear Threats More...
News3 mins ago
I have been in wine bar in Central London with couple of friends on drinks after passing our University exams... and I got in to a fight - I went to pool table area where three guys (two Albanians & black male) were playing pool and asked when they finish to play becouse I would like to play as well (that is all I remember).... I have been drunk a bit and I dont quite remember what happened afterwards cos someone broke pool stick on my head (probably the black guy, which escaped before the polce came) and I lost conciousness at some point, but apparently I punched (once) each of Albanians and knock them out and the black man hit me couple of times with the pool stick.... The Police came in and arrested me, I will be charged with assault resulting in GBH (guy had small bruise under his eye) and assault (no marks on body)... Apparently there was CCTV recording but it was to dark to identify thus police sent the tape to laboratory... I have no previous convictions of any kind and I am known from my good character... I just dont remember what happend... I am sure that I knock them out, but I know myself and I would not hit anyone just for fun.... I am quite stressed with whole situation and unfortunatelly there are no withnessess (my friends were on dance floor when it has happened) who can testify to help me and I would not want to lie about the case... Does anybody know what coudl be the outcome.... I just hope they dont put me in jail for that...

I'm interested as to why you mention the race/nationality of the people involved. If you made a point of this while being interviewed the police will likely think you were racially motivated in doing that which you are accused of.
Sorry if I offended you, I have not made that point while being interviewed by the Police - I was told that by the Detective. I did not even remember the look of people involved... Why I mentioned that was becouse two gentleman involved were friends, but the third man was apparently not known to them... but he still attacked me with a stick... dont know why. I just thought that could be some kind of helpfull clue, becouse as I have said I dont remember what really happened. Sorry if you understood me wrongly, I ment no offence. Thank you for posting the answer
Peter is right. You need a lawyer while the injuries can still be seen and photographed.
Andy is right in saying that the bruise is unlikely to be grievous bodily harm, but it is at least actual bodily harm. You really must get proper advice now. Your problem is too important to rely on Answerbank because you don't know how much each Answerbank member knows.
In future, it might be helpful to leave a little more of the drink in the bottle.
Guys, I have been given a solicitor... police have arranged one for me. I have not been charged yet, I have to be at police station in August... My solicitor said that we have to wait for CCTV tape from laboratory...
Maybe some of You have any knowledge on possible outcomes giving the circumstances I have presented? Whole situation is getting me nuts...
there are several things that could happen to you, you have stated that you have no previous convictions, if this is true then the most likely outcome will be an "adult caution", the injuries described would amount to a "section 47 assault" under the offences against the persons act. You would have to admit the offence to be eligable for the caution.
If they decide that it was racialy agrevated then the charge would be more serious, I still doubt that jail would result. They could try to charge with affray "section 4 of the public order act"
follow others advice and let your brief handle the matter. I would also advise on not getting so drunk in future as drunkeness is no defence in law.
hope this helps
