Flight time to Auckland, New Zealand
6 Answers
I am doing an assignment for maths and need to draw a time/distance graph for several destinations. Unfortunately I cannot figure out the flight time to New Zealand from London Heathrow. If you add up the hours from departure to arrival it is 42 hours, but everyone says it takes between 24 and 27. Is this difference to do with time changes?

But, add to this the fact that because you are travelling across the International Date line you will effectively `lose` a day as well. I can`t speak for the routes via Asia (Hong Kong or Singapore) as I`ve not flown them, but you don`t get the loss of a day that way.
Hope that hasn`t complicated matters even more for you!

Just to confuse you further, I was in the fortunate position of getting two birthdays one year as we flew from NZ on my birthday and arrived in LA just as it started again! Wasn`t the best of birthdays though, as one of our cases didn`t make it to LA on the same flight as we were. Glad that I`d packed `half and half`, so we both had a change of clothing!
