Diving with sharks in Cape town

Just wondering if anyone can give any information about dving in a shark cage near Cape town. I think Gansbaai is supposed to the best place to go but wondered if anyone had done it/give advice/recommend a dive company??
We are going to SA over Christmas and this is one of my 'top 10' things to do..

Yes this is the best place ( pronounced Karnsbuy ). Look at the websites :-

It'll cost you about �70. I lived in Cape Town for 20 odd years and will be going back permanently in Sept. Anything else you need to know about this fabulous place just ask and I'll try and help. Enjoy it.

Thank you for the information - I have now booked with cape-xtreme and also saw a safari to Aquila on their website so am also arranging that.
We have booked to stay in Hermanus for the first four days and want to spend the last three days in CT - We wont be 'using' the hotel much as we plan to be out and about most days (the safari, the cable, and a day down to the cape of good hope national park) but would like to stay somewhere with some nightlife (bars restaurants etc) but not too busy. Would you suggest staying in the city, or the V & A area or possibly just outside CT? (I saw Bantry Bay on some sites) We will have a hire car but I dont really want to drive at night otherwise I cant have a drink.

You're not giving yourself much time are you? Don't stay in central Cape Town. Would suggest V&A waterfront - good hotels, restaurants, cinemas, shopping, boat trips, street buskers, helicopter rides etc.
Alternatively Blouberg area which is about 20mins drive from the City but gives you that "classic" postcard view of Table Mountain across the Bay. Dolphin Beach hotel is pretty good and you have restaurants, bars in the vicinity but the water can be chilly (Atlantic).
See also Century City - very few places like it in UK except Trafford Centre. Join the penguins on the beach at Boulders Beach near Simonstown. When you go to Cape Point take the drive along the coast via Bantry Bay/ Hout Bay and along Chapmans Peak Drive. Oh and when you first travel from the airport be warned you will initially see a lot of the poorer community so don't be put off by first appearances.
