We will be staying in Orlando and fancy a caribean cruise. Would it be cheaper to buy the cruise tickets in the UK (From a cruise agent) or will it be cheaper to buy the tickets at an Orlando ticket agency when we get there? Can you find many travel agents in Orlando that sell discount Caribean Cruise Tickets?

Difficult (and not just because Orlando is in the middle of the state and not near the coast). Not all cruise companies will allow you to buy their cruises if you cannot give proof that you live in the USA. Also, there is no guarantee that you can go cheaper if you are buying last minute. Cruises tend to get more expensive the closer they get to sailing and the more they sell out. No real advantage to leaving it to the last minute - the cabin you want may have gone. On line agents like vacationstogo are very good in the US and will book cruises for UK residents but no guarentee that their prices are any cheaper.

We have been on 8 cruises and in the first couple of years always booked a long time in advance but then found we had paid much more than a lot of people on the cruise. Now we wait and book late and get some fantastic deals. Also on ships, upgrades go to late bookings and not early ones put up as in Hotels so you have a better chance of a better cabin (Unless ship gets fully booked). we had a great cabin in April and we only booked a few months before. So shop aroun d in England for deals

From Orlando you will probably go out of Port Caneveral which is 45 minutes away. It depends on the cruise line you use. Some assign cabins at the time of booking and don't really do upgrades and others just assign a catagory of cabin and you can get an upgrade. Sometimes the "upgrade" is only a matter of the exact same cabin one deck up or something like that. My advice would be to use a company that specializes in cruises. They can get good deals and a lot of times if the agent has been on that particular ship can tell you little insider tips about which cabins are best.
