Part 2
When Im on my own, or when Im hosting guests, I stay at the Goldner Hirsch. I do love this hotel. Its smack in the centre of town, facing Str Gedreidegasse, which is the main shopping area. If youre on your own, or if youre interests are more in shopping and sightseeing, then this may be just the place for you. The hotel has less than a hundred rooms, but I cant recall how many. I think the only occasional demotivator has been when theres an excess of American guests in the hotel. I remember the concierge once telling me that almost all of them use frequent traveller awards and it can become a bit demanding on the hotel.

I'm a bit of a fanatical foodie as well as a hopeless romantic. So my preferences most often are tied to dining and ambiance. If my hands were twisted, Id probably vote for the Schloss Mnchstein because of its intimacy.
Salzburg is one of my favourite cities in the world, so Im constantly finding reasons to strand myself there!
I hope you have a wonderful trip!
