It's about 15 years since I was there so I'm sure it has grown larger - it was fairly small then & a very pretty little place built on a slope going down to the harbour. lots of the restaurants were on rooftops with lovely views. Quaint streets & lots of bourganvillia covering the houses. No beach there but the hotels will have swimming pools & there is a long beach at Patara - where you approach it through an archaelogical site!! Kas is also very nice and not far away and there are some good day trips by boat and in land. It was more of a place for couples and adults - not really for children. There is anice website here http://www.kalkanturkey.com/index.htm
Hi Lizzie. I've never been but last year I met a lady in Bitez who lived there. She went for a holiday 5 years ago and never came home. She says it's gorgeous. A bit more up market and a lot quieter than other Turkish resorts, but with quality restaurants and fabulous scenery. Hope this helps.
