On the approach we flew across the Mersy, and over an industrial area where there appeared to be a church in the midst of all the factories, and close to the riverbank.
Can anyone identify this for me? I'd love to see it again.
It's on Western Point, at the southernmost end of a dock basin. Sorry, I mentioned a building between it and the river - my memory was playing tricks! If you find Perrin Avenue, it is almost due west from that in between the dock and the river. It still looks church shaped, but perhaps it's not a church at all?
We were actually diverted to Liverpool because there had been an emergency landing at Manchester, and it was totally bizarre to see this unexpected building slap bang in the docks/industrial area. I'm determined now to go across and have a closer look.
