I am trying to locate the site of a pedestrian suspension bridge. I think it is near Lucca but I could be wrong, as it was 20 years ago. Just about to take another trip there in June.
It was built for walkers only, never for traffic. I have searched the Serchio Valley without success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

seems to suggest it may be the hanging bridge of Mammiano.

These are all links to the area where the bridge is - Mammiano. I don't understand why you say you will have to travel the valley looking for it. Surely you buy yourself a good map of the area where Mammiano is - it will surely show the bridge. Or just do some more internet research on the area Or just go to Mammiano & ask someone!!
It is so huge a bridge that I can't imagine you would miss it in Mammiano!!!.

Hi JK2,
Thanks for all the info. Much appreciated. My first search was the Serchio Valley, then I was going to branch up the Lima. I eventually found the bridge on a satalite photo.
I have Maps, but I am travelling up from the Naples direction. Last time I was in Tuscany I stayed in Empoli. I have been informed that it was 30 years ago, not 20. How time flies. Unfortunately I lost all my notes and directions of the area.
When you are pushing 80 memories begin to be hazy, but I shall get there.
I am now looking for gardens in the Collodi area, not the Pinochio one. I do quite a bit of googling 90% successful.
Once again thanks for all your help.
