in addition to my last question: "Anyone know the best way to travel to The Isle of Skye (Scotland) from Leicester by train?"
"leave Leicester 07h35, change at Derby and Edinburgh, arr Inverness 17h07. to reach Portree the same day, take the "citylink" bus from Inverness at 17h30. to reach Kyleakin the same day, take the train from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh at 18h15, then take the local bus from Kyle to Kyleakin at 20h55 or 21h55."
anyone know how much the train ticket would cost for a one way trip?
on that particular service, no reduction is available - at least, not on the random dates I picked in May and June. So to Inverness 1 way, 101.00, to Kyle 117.00.
But you can get a 28.00 fare to Kyle by using the "night" service via Crewe, dep Leicester 21h36 (change Nuneaton, Crewe & Inverness) & arrive Kyle 11h20.
