lake garda resorts

Has anyone been to lake garda, and which resort would you recommend? Is it possible to swim in the lake? Would it be warm there in June?

In the right hand (blue) column you will see average lake water temperatures throughout the year.
I would tell you the June temeperature,but it's in C and I still function in F! LOL

the water temperature in F is about 63 to 80, which is an unhelpfully wide range. I'd expect it to be near the lower end in June and gradually warm up through summer. Air temperature seems to be up around 80, which sounds nice.

Unles you like holidaying with vast numbers of Germans and Dutch, i would avoid Lake Garda completly! We went and hated nearly every minute!

my best mate went there july 2007 for honeymoon, went to Bardalino and thought it was great. Food and wine really cheap if you went to the local resturants, people on the beach and in the lake, short bus trips all the time (if u wanted them) weather was in the lower 30's centigrade, people were swimming and using pedalo's (although my mate is not a water fan)...he did say though, if you fly into Verona, make sure you get a place on the Verona side of the lake, because if you go on the other side, its 4 or 5 hours in a bus. He thoroughly recomends it.
