Moving Holidays if deposit has been paid
My mother in law has just booked a holiday to Turkey in the Kremlin Palace. But in her worldley wisdom did not realise that the hotel would be predominatley full of Russians. (I thought the name gave it away).
Now I have had a bad experiance with the Russians last year in Egypt and refuse to have anything to do with them again. My question is can the deposit for the holiday be transferred to another destination or hotel?
Thanks in advance

Off the top of my head, and from experience of many holidays,I would say (in most cases) that your Mother would lose her deposit.
This is because you want to change the hotel or the resort which would count as a completely new booking.
However, all holiday companies vary, and you really need to read their terms and conditions, either in their brochure or online.
I am hoping that BuenChico (Chris) may be able to confirm or otherwise on this,as he is a real whizz at holiday/travel problems.
Come in Chris,where are you?

Is this the Kremlin Palace in a suburb of Antalya? If so it's so called as it looks like the Kremlin Palace - not because it is Russian owned or most visited by Russians, liewise the Topaki isn't only full of Turkish people.there are aload of 5* AI hotels in the stretch and I think it would be fair to say most of them have a high percentage of Russian tourists, but there are still a fiar number of europeans and many english.
Russians tend to go the AI 5* hotels as opposed to other boards and Turkey , especially Antalya is a popular choice as they do not need a visa.
Have stayed in hotel and it was fine and have recommended it to others
If your mil wan s to cancel holiday completely I think she will lose her money but if she transfers it company may change hotels for her but she might be better off changing resort if she wants to stay in Turkey

You are seeking to change the contract between you and the tour operator. There is no reason why they should do this without the complete loss of the deposit (unless the T&Cs of the contract allow it - unlikely).
If you rebook elsewhere, they may, just may, be willing to agree not to take some or all of it.
