London's a big place, so it depends where you're measuring from, but Parliament Square to central Oxford is 63 miles by road.

just checking..someone who i am friends with on facebook says shes at oxford uni but loves in london. a bit far for a student to go everyday,me thinks

..and there's a quick direct coach service between the two. She could be at Oxford Brookes Uni - the ex-polytechnic.

Oxford and London are exceptionally well-connected by public transport. For example, the Oxford Tube (which is a coach service) runs every 4 or 5 times per hour, 7 days per week. It operates 24 hours per day (with buses still running half hourly during the 'small hours'). The journey takes about 1 hour 40 minutes.

NJ, I'm surprised they can't find love in a place like Oxford.

It is quite a commute, though. I might do it for a job, which brings in money; but for study it seems a long way to go.
