Best Airline to travel to florida?

Hi All,
I am going to Florida next november with my fiance, my mum and dad and my brother. I was just wondering if anyone could suggest an airline that is reasonable and comfortable. I have already checked BA but they want an adults fare for a 13 year old!!

There seems to be a lack of information in your question: You've not told us where you're starting from or where in Florida you wish to fly to!

Possibly the most popular destination in Florida is Orlando. According to the Orlando Airport website the only direct scheduled flights out of the UK are from Gatwick (with BA and Virgin), Manchester (Virgin), Bristol (Continental) and Edinburgh (Continental).

The second most popoular destination in florida is probably Miami. The Miami Airport website shows the only direct flights from the UK operating from Heathrow (BA and American Airlines).

I'm sorry that this doesn't directly answer your question but I hope that it will point you in the right direction.

PS: It's always been standard airline practice to charge child fares only from 2 to 12 years. The budget European airlines (such as Ryanair) have adopted of an 'under-16' policy but this it's unlikely that you'll find this applied elsewhere.

i find that I have to pay adult prices for my daughter too when we go and shes only three. Ive not found one yet that charges less. The way they see it is that if theyre taking up a seat then adult price it is! Unfair but that seems to be the way im afraid. Thompson flights are not too badly priced and theres always Travel City (drinks and meals free). Ive booked a few flights from www.A1travel.com thayre usually quite reasonable priced. I think BA fly to Tampa as well, but I imagine the fares would be much the same as Miami. You might find charter flights to Orlando, perhaps as part of a package deal.

We've booked with Thomas Cook for next year, so obviously don't know what the flights are like, but they do offer child places for children up to the age of 16 but you're not talking a lot of difference to be honest. Our travel agent recommends First Choice (who fly to Orlando from Manchester) but unfortunately all the cheap seats had gone when I went to book last week. I'd go into a travel agent and see what they can find for you and also ask their advice.

Always go Virgin Atlantic and find them very good. I suppose if they are taking up an adult seat then they are just the same as an adult, I think most airlines follow that policy.

Never have a problem with Virgin and there are lots of things for them to watch and games etc. I am just wondering if someone could explain to me the logic of why a child taking up a seat should pay less than an adult, its not a criticism I am just wondering if I am missing something .......
