Iberia is the Spanish 'flag carrier', equivalent to British Airways. It has an excellent safety record and comes out with 3 stars with Skytrax (which is as good as most other European airlines):

(For comparison, easyJet and Thomsonfly also score 3 stars. BA gets 4 stars. bmiBaby and Ryanair score 2 stars).

Catering is provided through Gate Gourmet (which provides in-flight food for BA), so that means that the food will probably be fairly basic in economy class.

Some people complain about a lack of leg-room on their flights but it's no worse than the normal standard for budget/economy.

Chris

(PS: I couldn't care less if my plane had no seats, no food, an outside toilet and the world's worst record for crashes. As long as it's cheap, it's good enough for me!)
Iberia charge for meals and refreshments in Economy Class on European flights.

Thanks Chris a star as always!
The main anecdotal comment I've seen is that the cabin crew can be a bit temperamental - on one flight charming and helpful throughout, on another rude and unhelpful.

Be warned, the food on board is very expensive. Also, if you book with BA.com, which tells you drinks and snacks are included, but get an Iberia Codeshare flight, the free food you would get with BA disappears. They only tell you this after you have paid for the flight. Don't try complaining, as their response was a polite but firm p155 off!
