move to australia or new zealand

I really want to live in australia with my family, my hubby has a skill they require, hes worked in his trade for 13 years but the last 4 years has done something toataly different which dont help because you need to work 12 mnths in the required trade before applying for a visa but its immpossable for him to go back to his trade here as we have bigger morgage etc. is their any other way of getting into australia.

Surely the 12 months can be with in a certain period and not current,trade credentials and work exsperiance are what they ask for,like written references.try along those lines ,Trade Union membership is a big help.
