using random dates in june, cheapest fares are �20-23 each way with easyjet (stansted), �38 each way with BA (heathrow) and �75 return (once taxes are added) with flybe (gatwick). the easyjet fare might look good but it wouldn't be very attractive if you lived in guildford. (similar for the flybe fare if you lived north of the thames)
I know you said "fly", but using the same random dates, train tickets are available for �15 one-way, on some very reasonably-timed services - good if you live within london itself (no long transfer to airport or car parking charge).
