I am trying to book a flight from London to Zurich with aerlingus. Their "lucky day" promotion currently advertised states the price as 9.99 including taxes. The website, however, adds on the tax charges - how can this be?
I'm also confused about prices for checking in baggage. The price scale is confusing to say the least. If anyone has flown aerlingus, could they please explain whether you have to pay per checked-in bag PLUS pay another fee to allow you to pay to check in your bag?

There are only a limited number of seats available for £9.99 on certain dates. Where those seats are available (as, for example, throughout most of the first half of November) the fare will be shown as £0.00 plus £9.99 taxes. However hovering my mouse over the 6th November (which is a Friday and therefore a popular day for travelling) brings up 'Only 3 seats remaining at this price'.

There is a warning about this in the 'terms and conditions' displayed on the page advertising the £9.99 far. Here's the wording:
"Limited availability during holiday and other peak travel periods including Bank Holidays, school holidays and sporting events".

There is only one fee per checked bag. It's £10 online or £15 at the airport.

Thanks for your reply, Chris. It's truly daunting trying to work out at all the extra charges and compare this airline with other alternatives; finally I thought I'd just book and see what the total came to, and give it a go this time. I did get very cheap tickets, but with all the fees and surcharges, including the final whammy, an obligatory "seating charge" of £5 per person per journey, the final bill for 2 people comes to over £200. Not that different from BA, really, so this may be the only time I spend such a long time trying to make a booking.
