Using Liverpool instead of Manchester airport in a couple of months, but Ive never used a car park at Liverpool. Anyone used a secure, manned car park? dont really like the idea of these park and rides where there doesnt seem to be any security. TIA

The car park holds an award under the 'Park Mark Safer Parking Scheme' (which is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers, requiring car parks to meet strict safety and security standards):

When I fly from Belfast, I leave my car with a private company. They offer indoor parking and ferrying to and from the airport. It's slightly dearer than the normal long stay car parks but infinitely safer. For an additional fee[s] they will wash/valet/etc.
I would imagine most airports would have something like this nearby.

I often park at Liverpool and have never experienced problems. Just drive straight in, ignore the cowboy sites either side of the road on the way in. At school holiday time the long stay 2 car park - right at the last roundabout just before the terminal building - generally has spaces. None of the car parks ar beyond walking distance of the terminal. Pay at paystation on way out, or book in advance on the liverpool airport website and just stick your credit card in the machine to exit.
