Is this a route which I can walk or would I have to get a bus. I don't know London at all. I don't really want to go on the underground. Would a taxi be reasonable? Looking on the google map it looks walkable but it may be different in reality. Thanks in advance

Thanks Hippyhoppy. I don't think I could walk that far - not with a bit of luggage anyway. Would I be able to get another train from one station to the other perhaps?
it's the underground or bus, I'm afraid.

or taxi, of course.
..and while youre at St Pancras - get yer camera out, it's where they filmed Harry Potter - platform 9 3/4 is there!
I find London very confusing so I'd recommend a taxi.

Thank you all. I think it will be a taxi. I don't know if you remember but you helped me with some directions for Manchester last week, which were great. I went to an audition, and I'm chuffed to bits because now I'm through to the next round which is in London, and this time the TV company pay for me! I'm so excited. I went to London years and years ago. I know I'll probably be indoors for a lot of the time but I'm hoping I can get out and see SOME sights. I don't know where the hotel is yet but the TV company postcode is W1W 5 BB.
It will be somewhere around Great Titchfield St - quite a posh area.
It's not 7 miles, it's under 6 <kilometers> - still a bit far to comfortably walk particularly with luggage. (Hippyhoppy hasn't used St Pancras STATION as their starting point, but an apparently random street several miles away)

The 205 bus does the journey in 25 to 40 minutes depending on time of day/traffic
And yes the postcode you give is in the Great Titchfield Street area - about half way between St Pancras and Paddington. The same 205 bus will take you to Great Portland Street station, which is nearby. And a rather more reasonable walk - a couple of miles roughly.
