Going to the Sol Gavilanes hotel in Cala Galdana at the end of June. Cheapest transfer from the airport I can find is £45 return (for 2). Does anybody know of a better deal? The hotel has its own shuttle service, apparently, but I can't find a price - or an e-mail address to ask them. Anybody know about this? I'll be grateful for any help.

Here's the contact details - found it by Googling... but I can#t say how accurate it is, but it's worth an email:
Cala Galdana Balearic Islands Minorca hotel Spain | Sol Gavilanes ... See contact details for the hotel. Tel: (34) 971 154545 - Fax: (34) 971 154546. E-mail: sol.gavilanes@solmelia.com.
It says though that they are closed for the low season so...

Tom.......Cala Galdana is quite away from the Airport and for a summer price and for sheer convenience 45UK pounds return for 2 in June, is a fair price to pay.

Sqad will know better than I do, but IMO £45 taxi return for two to that part of the island looks pretty reasonable to me, on a par with what we paid from airport to resort last time we went to Menorca.
Beat me to it, sqad, I thought you would!
boxy....LOL....I tried to find the phone book, .............but couldn´t LOL

Thanks guys. That £45 is for a bus, not a taxi, so not necessarily very convenient - last time in Menorca we waited over half an hour on the bus before it left the airport and on the way back had to leave Santo Tomas over 4 hours before flight time. Maybe I'll hire a car; only £96 for our whole stay, apparently.
Tom...fine.

Hiring cars on the Island is also expensive.
Last year we used A2B transfers to get to Cala Galdana and will be using them this year too. VERY reliable and as they only use small mini buses there aren't too many drop offs. It took about an hour each way. To say how far it is from the airport this wasn't too bad at all. The return journey picked us up 3 hrs before the flight and arrived exactly at the time they stated.
If you can afford it I'd hire a car. As you probably know Cala Galdana is at the end of a long road with nowhere else near it - unless you're happy to stay there the whole time or catch buses.
We caught buses all the time and didn't find it a problem. Also there are other lovely beaches along the coast path in both directions. Infact you could walk around the whole island on the coast path, should you be feeling particulary fit!! We managed to walk to Santo Thomas one day and Playa Bosch another.
