Hi there! I've done some searching but can't come up with anything. I'm looking for a place in Florence which also serves meals. I'll be travelling on my own so don't want the hassle of going into restaurants on my own.

Florence does have some communal restaurants where you just sit at long tables next to people from all over the world, which might help avert some of the hassle of being alone in a restaurant

I've been to at least one other but can't remember the name.

Sorry, that doesn't exactly answer your question
yes get out and about would be my strong suggestion, though I do know where you are coming from on this - can't remember anywhere off the top of my mind but it is such a glorious city with good food. First went there on an art scholarship tour when I was 17.......

My recommendation would be choose classier joints as you will get less hassle from the men with "desert disease" (wandering palms)

I can escort!

for example this - true tuscan food twisted for being upmarket a wee bit.....
great minds, jno

Thank you to you both. I'll have a look into your suggestion. Maybe once there I'll have a bit more courage to step into a place on my own.
We stayed at a fantastic hotel caller Orto De Medici. It doesn't have its own restaurant but there is a place directly opposite called Mimmo that serves amazing food on the long bench tables of the type discussed in other posts (as well as some smaller tables if you prefer)
