Once through immigration there was a scrum and Ryanair were unwilling to provide priority or a refund. A regular passenger on the route said that priority wasn't worth a candle because it was never available.
We just can't be doing with not having a boarding card in our hands telling us where we will sit. I hate the bums rush to grab seats and am prepared to pay a premium to get a seat number. Speedy boarding does not offer that option, it just means you have first shot at said rush. I do so wish that EJ or RAir would print off a seat number. Until they do they don't get our hard earned.

If we're travelling with our kids we never do speedy boarding - it's just a rip-off. So far we've never had a problem but, if we did, I think it would sort itself out ... otherwise, worst case, somebody else would just have to sit next to them for a couple of hours. Any rational fellow passenger would offer to move rather than face that ...

I am pretty sure it works both ways and in my experience they are quite strict in enforcing it. Many times I have seen people trying to use the speedy boarding desk only to be turned away.
I usually use it peak times like Christmas or Bank Holidays. Although I have felt really guilty walking past everyone in the queue at Christmas and you can feel them all looking at you and hating you. Then you do it all again when you board the plane. Again with the looks!
