If you use Transport for London's website it is quite good. tfl.gov.uk.

It has a journey planner and if you use the advanced option you can unclick all travel options apart from bus.
No there isn't - it's a 2 hour journey and 3 or 4 changes
Are you trying to avoid travel underground or want to use a bus pass?
As has been stated, buses will take ages.

The cheapest and easiest method would be to take the District or Circle Line to Bank and then change onto the DLR.

By far the most convenient method, though, would be to take a black cab. Expect to pay around £25.

I didn't realise it was that difficult to get to and yes, i wanted to use a Bus Pass, as I am quite a way out of London I can't get a freedom pass. Thanks all, think I will have to get a travel card and use the Underground.
Custom House is the best stop; Prince Regent is at the far end of Excel. You want the DLR heading for Beckton
I would go for the DLR to get to Xcel
