Kids are off to France with the school next term.  They need a basic phrase book to practice on that gives English >> French & back, plus some basic pronounciation and mini dictionary.  Any recommends, please?

the BBC website

bbc.co.uk/languages/french/lj/menu/shtml

is excellent. It is a great way to learn all the basic french for everyday situations and is laid out brilliantly. My son goes next term to France (age 9) for the same reason but getting him to stay with me on the BBC french lessons is a big chore. If you have employed some tricks to get your child to stay on the website for more than 5 mins please let us know.
