i hate the jct 21a - jct 9 bit of the route to warrington ikea from blackpool.
i once went with some people who came off a couple of jcts early and it was much better. just straight A road and it didn't add to the time at all.
Would it be junction 22 or 23 of the m6 i'd need?

Leave the M6 at Jn 23.
Take the exit for the A49, towards Newton-le-Willows and Warrington.
Keep going straight ahead and you'll cross the M62 at Jn9.
At the first roundabout, turn right, into the trading area where IKEA is.
Go right at the second roundabout and then straight on.

Sorry, Crisgal, I'm already booked for sleeping on Sherrardk's sofa. (Well, I think that was the most recent offer, anyway. I've had quite a few actually!)
For pity's sake do not go during a school half term!
And when you do - decide in advance what you want - get a trolley and go in thru the checkputs, get it straight from the stacks and out again.
only in this way will your sanity be saved.

I find the stuffy atmosphere and the fluorescent lighting makes me want to run round biting people after 30 minutes.
