Any advice and tips of the best food places, beaches, where to go what to do and what to avoid would be appreciated. Also what is it like in early September compared to other months?

Many thanks for that Loftylottie.
I have been several times myself, but Neti knows the island inside out. She has lived there for the best part of her life.
Have contacted her. She is usually about on here quite a bit x
Early September is a lovely time to go. Still hot without usually being too hot, although I must admit I went in September once and they had a heatwave. Quieter in September because the kids are back at school. I haven't been there since 1974 - I think it may well have changed!!!!
Neti will be the expert but I've been twice and San Antonio is the really lively clubby place if that's what you want. Most of the rest of the island is quieter and there are some lovely beaches.
Here I is! Well beginning of Sept is usually very hot, Obviously all these answers depend on your age, and money to spend. Eden is one of the In places at the moment in San An as is Es paradis, all long the seafront (San An side) are restaurants catering to British tastes. Good one is Koppos, even we eat there sometimes. Are you definitely in San Antonio itself or Poet des Torrent or Cala de Bou, cos they are quite a bit apart but all come under the San An name. If you are young and like a drink, there is a Pirate Cruise, brill fun, and it is imperitive that you see the famous sunset, do not go to the bars like Cafe del Mar (RIPOFF) but sit anywhere on the rocks to watch, or go on the sunset cruise, mind you sometimes it's cloudy and can't see it so the cruise would be a waste of money! Hope you have a good time, but take care!
Have to add that Playa den Bossa and Ibiza town are where the big famous disco are, Pacha, Amnesia, and Space but they are incredibly expensive, but good fun. The powers that be have stopped the after parties, so they must all close at 6am I think it is.

Thank you all kindly for your answers. I'm still researching and Ibiza isn't set in stone yet but is a strong contender.

Net ibiza apart from the usual clubbing and watersports what other recommended excursions would you think would be suitable for a young couple in their 30's? I did find out recently that ibiza has some interesting caves which we may see if we go, anything else?
Yes the caves are beautiful but I haven't been due to claustrophobia and very steep climbs. Ignore the Aquarium it is ridiculously small , you can walk the whole length and back again in 1 min, although the the rocky area Cala gracio is lovely. In all hosestly if you don't do the beach or clubs, there really isn't anything else to do. Shopping is very expensive, but dining out is a pleasure and depending where you go, can be cheap with good food.
