driving to dover

i need to board the 3.00pm ferry on 4/4/05. i am worried about the traffic situation around there. normally it would take me 3.5 hrs from derby to dover...how much time can i expect it to take me to reach dover

3.5 hrs sounds about right. Usually at that time of day should have no 'normal' traffic problems on M1,M25,M20; but of course, all it takes is one accident to foul everything up. I would allow an extra hour 'just in case' and stay tuned to Radio 2 for up to date travel reports. Oh, just thought, are they still having problems with the berths in Calais?. This could lead to major delays. Phone your ferry operator and check whats happening.
