Had the best weather while I was there. The views were spectacular. I was driving up and down rock slides and rough terrain with a 3/4 ton pickup filled full of oxygen and acetylene bottles. I was hooked up to a track hoe one day and we both started sliding down the hill we were on. If you haven't been chased down a hill backwards by a large hoe I'd recommend it. Fear and adrenaline make a great team.
This Monday I'll be in Tennessee for a few weeks so if anyone feels like stopping by you're welcome. I doubt I'll get as much excitement there but we can always hope.
Utah was definitely a Mormon state. Weird liquor laws like the state operating the only liquor stores and only 3.2 beer outside of liquor stores. No doubles in a bar and only one shot per customer. The girls were damn friendly.

Did you do into Salt Lake City? My Mum went there in 1998 and she said it was the cleanest town she'd ever been to. If you're in Nashville at all you could check out Garth's plaque at the Grand Ole Opry?

I was twenty minutes north of Salt Lake City. I'll be just about as far east in TN as you can get but I might travel through Nashville if I go visit the folks on the way down or back.
A hoe or ho, CowT? - especially as you go onto say //The girls were damn friendly.//
I stayed over night in Salt Lake City on a tour of USA. It was very clean, extremely hot but there was absolutely nothing to do. Once you've visited the tabernacal you've seen everything there is to see. I wasn't too comfortable there, especially when you see the word "Jesus" cemented into the pavements every so often.

We visited the copper mine to escape for a few hours.
Sorry Cowtipper - I meant to say hi, good to see you again. I'm pleased you had a great time in Utah. I loved Arches National Park - breath taking.

Its all good Maidup. They kind of freak me out too. The Navoo temple is just down the road from here. Its pretty odd too.
I don't associate with ho's :P I show up clean and tan after working 60 something hours a week with no company and too much money and they like my accent. Go figure.
I'm trying to envisage being chased backwards down a hill by a large ho.

Hi Mike. It was a hoe, not a 'ho. Two entirely different things. Mostly.
A hoe in England is a long tool for weeding the garden. What is it in the US?
Question Author
Not sure what you'd call them there. An excavator maybe?

Or JCB. Certainly bigger than an English hoe, but then everything is bigger in the States.
just remember Minnesota is a Sugar hole
I recommend a tour of the distillary in Lynchburg - shame it's a dry county so if you buy anything, you have to drink it elsewhere. Still - it's a good tour, I was surprised to see how short JD was.
(Talking of weird liquor laws!)
BTW if you make it as far south as AL and don't mind camping in the hot weather, Buck's Pocket state park is a great retreat with some great hikes/views. (There are showers).
