Things to do in Amsterdam

Hi, my boyfriend and I are going to Amsterdam in July, and I have been told there is an event or festival about an hour away where there are people on stilts?!? Does anyone have any information about this and know if it is worth visiting?!

sorry - not sure about the festival although I'm sure you can google it.  But I'd recommend the Boom Chicago comedy club (google it!) it's excellent, very very funny and the food is great too.  It's in English so don't worry ^_^
