police not bothering to follow up after theft
11 Answers
Hi all. on 14/6/11 my expensive immaculate motorcycle got stollen, my son heard the comotion woke me and gave chase to the 2 thieves running at full speed with my bike, they got round the corner and dropped it knowing we was giving chase, a lot of damage was caused over £1000. I phoned the police fair for them they came within a couple of minutes.. that was it they said they would be round to take statement= it never happened, 2 weeks later evidence was found by my son and his mate of one of the culprits . i went to the police station explained this to them they said the case had been closed. i insisted that it was not closed they said someone will be round tomorrow for a statement. Again it never happened. now the thieves have got away and i'm left with a very expensive bill (3rd party fire and theft)so i can't claim
Who do i complain to? can i claim criminal damage?
Thanks in advance Wayne

Sugget you write to your MP who in turn will write to the appropriate Chief Constable. The CC initiates enquiries to be answered by a certain date and then replies to the MP. Give it a try.
