My friend's child is now 6yrs old, was born in Andorra to an unmarried French/Andorran father and a British mother, she has an Andorran birth certificate and the mother now wants the child to have a British Passport, surely she will need an British Birth Certificate for this and is the child too old now to apply? Thanks.

Clearly this doesn't apply in the case of this child, because this child is too young.
I think, unfortunately you are going to find that the answer is 'no' based on the criteria.

Thanks buildersmate, I'll pass it on. I really think they should have registered the child at birth with the British Consul.
Looks like it may be possible in another section for children under 18:
