Same Sex relationship and Moving to Australia
5 Answers
I am in a long term same sex relationship, that is not legally recongised (i.e. not civil partner). My partner is potentially going to be moving to Australia with work (he is a professional Quantity Surveyor). Will I (and the dog!) be able to go with him? Does anybody have any advice on exploring the options?

I'm educated up to HND Level, in Science, but work in a completely different sector (finance, in sport).
I should perhaps also add that my older brother is married to an Australian, has Australian citizneship, lives in Melbourne and has two children...I understand that sponsorship is something somebody else has mentioned?
I am also aged 29, if age is a factor (someone mentioned a cap on 35?).
I have been to Australia a couple of times in the past two years, under a three-month holiday visa (one of which expired when I was there the last time as it was a last minute family emergency and the visa I hastily applied for was rejected as the one from the previous year was still valid, albeit expired when I was over there...confusing but hopefully not a factor!)
I also have no criminal convictions.
Thanks for the link Hazel, I shall have a read...
