Perth, Scotland - Where to/ not to live?

HI all,
Ill be moving to Perth, Scotland at the beginning of September 2011. Can anyone give me some advice on the areas that are best to live in and those i should avoid please?
Im a 30 y.o male who will be looking for shared accomodation.

You can just about walk right round the perimeter of the town in a single afternoon - there is nowhere that anyone would seriously advise you to avoid for safety or amenety reasons, snobbery is something else altogether. Look for the accommodation that suits you, if/when you find it then as a second consideration choose what to settle for based on where it is.

4candles - I have just watched the TV programme about Perth. It looks like a really lovely place, the sort of place that I would like to move to - alas I already live there and the programme seems to have filmed us on a 'good day'.
Mike - check the Perthshire advertiser on-line - this is our local newspaper and may have some properties for rent. Good luck and remember to bring your waterproofs.
