Want to walk along the aquaduct along the canal path but where is the best place to join it and park the car, we are 4 OAP'S so don't want to be to far away and walk miles.

The best place to park is at the Trevor canal marina .When travelling westwards from Ruabon to Llangollen along the A539 turn left into the B5434 (station road) then left again at the Telford Inn into new road . Go over the canal bridge and then turn right into the marina and the parking area . At this time of year it could be very busy .

Thanks argorstran, that's a great answer and really helps, we are going this Tues, should be fun.
Took my sisters boat over about a month ago. It is very busy at this time of year. Its actually the Pontcysllte Aqueduct 1007ft long 121 ft high. It actually overshadows the approach embankment on the south side which was the largest earthwork in Europe at the time (1805). There is a trip boat that runs from Trevor basin and also one that runs from Llangollen over the aqueduct and back and does lunch too. This leaves at 12 noon. If you went on this though, be warned. It is a very steep hill up to Llangollen wharf from the town.
Enjoy! I remember going on a school trip and being very glad I wasn't a canoeing as there was no rail over that side!
