Being a member of English Heritage gets you into any EH property for free.

But you have to join EH to get a pass to admit you for free, and that costs money.

Note for some EH events you still have to pay a small entrance fee, even if you are an EH member.

I don't think you can - you have to be a member to get occasional 2 for 1 offers.
