I have a friend who lives in Colorado and am thinking of taking a trip to see him some time next year. Can anyone advise if there is a cheaper time of year in terms of flights from any London airport?
Also what's it like price wise out there? I would probably go for two weeks but of course have the luxury of not forking out for a hotel. I'm just trying to build an idea of how much I would need to save.
petrol's cheaper. Eating out's cheaper (though not as much cheaper as it used to be). Books and cinemas are cheaper. Not sure about flights: people go there to ski, so there's not really a low season.
I would imagine the flights would be more expensive during the skiing season. School holidays probably wouldn`t come into it. I don`t think there are many direct flights from the UK to Denver so that route could be quite expensive. If you have a choice of a stopover in Denver I wouldn`t bother because there isn`t much there (OK, it`s a dump) If you`re staying with people you could get away with not spending too much. Food`s not cheap these days. Shopping not too bad though.
It at least seems like I won't need to take a fortune of spending money.
I'll have to check with my friend which is the best airport to fly to as I'm a bit confused by it all. Just looking at a map I realised he lives only a few miles away from Columbine.
