Have you seen the new Residencia cards? They are green like the paper but small cards, no photos or fingerprints but much better for putting oin purse or wallet. And they last for 10yrs not; forever like the paper. One step forward, two steps back. They are only for renewals of the plastic card,and new applicants. but if you lose your paper, you get another paper instead!!!!

Well we always had them before, then they suddenly changed them to sheets of green paper, and now back to flimsy card! Luckily mine is one of the last to run out so hopefully I'll get the card again!

netty...LOL...I have still got one of the green pieces of paper which are bloody useless. They don't have a photograph and they were not accepted at one time at the Palma airport. You still need your passport, so, what is their function?

Second class citizens...that's what we are ;-)

Netty....yepp....UK does not appeal to me....personally and i cannot think of any reason that would get me back.

I love the shops in England, but couldn't see myself actually settling there, unless it was a remote village in Yorkshire (no idea why) but that appeals to me.

I can only speak for Menorca, but there is little or no violence, the odd burglary (but on the increase), feel safe walking the streets even at nights and the people are very friendly.

No scope for youngsters as for education as they have to go to Palma or Barcelona and the Health Service is first class.

Documentation and paperwork is a NIGHTNARE.

Mrs sqad shops in Palma, Barcelona and Manchester.......she will have nothing to do with Heathrow or London.

LOts of crime here now, (mostly recently arrived eastern Europeans). I guess I could walk in the dark, but wouldn't feel safe. I shop in Brighton.

Sqad, have just spent 60€ on English food as the warehouse sells them to the public every Friday. At last have sausages, and have bought Quality Street for xmas and English bread (real not Harvest Gold!!) and a box of crackers yay!
